WPL 2023 Auction: Five All-Rounders who may attract big money in the Auction

The inaugural season of the Women's Premier League, a franchise-based Women's T20 tournament is set to start on March 4.

The list of the players up for auction was released recently as they will go under the hammer on February 13. 409 players have been registered, 246 of them are Indians and 163 representing overseas nations. 90 slots are available to the five franchises, and each team can have a maximum of 6 overseas players.

There will be some stalwarts of the Women's cricket who will take part in the WPL. And here is the list of 5 all-rounders of the game who will attract some massive sum in the auction.

1. Harmanpreet Kaur (India)

Base Price: 50 Lakhs

Age: 34

The Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur is a scintillating player. Her destructive batting prowess and amazing ability to find the fence makes her one of the most fearsome players. She can also bowl decent right-arm off spin to add another dimension to her game. And Harmanpreet will undoubtedly be one of the biggest names in the auction.

2. Hayley Matthews (West Indies)

Base Price: 40 Lakh

Age: 24

Hayley Matthews is a top-notch batter as the West Indies all-rounder has been immense in the last few years. She has scored 1451 runs in T20I cricket and has 74 wickets with her off-spin bowling. Given the Indian conditions, Hayley will be a big prospect in the Mumbai pitches and will earn some hefty bucks in the auction.

3. Ashleigh Gardner (Australia)

Base Price: 50 Lakh

Age: 25

Ashleigh Gardner is currently the no. 1 ranked T20 all-rounder in Women's cricket. The Australian has been outstanding both with the bat and ball, scoring 1000+ runs in T20I cricket at a strike rate of over 133. Her credentials with the ball is quite impressive, as Gardner has 43 international T20 wickets to her name at an economy of 6.27. He previous performance in India has been very decent and well and the young Aussie will be in the radar of almost all the franchises.

4. Tahlia McGrath (Australia)

Base Price: 40 Lakh

Age: 27

Tahlia McGrath is currently the top-ranked batter in Women's T20 cricket. She is a fantastic batter and has been an enormous performer for the Australia women while batting at the top-order. She can bowl medium pace and has the knack for picking wickets as well. McGrath's ability to dash with the bat and disciplined bowling numbers makes her an elusive buy, and the player is set to earn big cash in the auction.

5. Deepti Sharma (India)

Base Price: 50 Lakh

Age: 25

Deepti Sharma has been the most impactful bowler for India in the past year or so. The ever-smiling wizard from Bengal has weaved her magic and has troubled oppositions across every format. With 192 international wickets in her kitty, Sharma has the host of experience and will be an asset in the T20 format with her bowling. She is also a handy batter in the lower-middle order and can use the handle of the willow more than efficiently.
