WPL Auction: Five Batters who may earn Huge Money in the WPL Auction

The inaugural season of the Women's Premier League is set to start on March 4. The season will be concluded on March 26 and all matches will be played in Mumbai.

The list of the players up for auction was released recently as they will go under the hammer on February 13. 409 players have been registered, 246 of them are Indians and 163 representing overseas nations. 90 slots are available to the five franchises, and each team can have a maximum of 6 overseas players.

And ahead of the auction, here are the five batters who can garner a gigantic sum at the auction table of the WPL-

Suzie Bates' is a top-notch player in the Women's T20I format at the moment. The hard-hitting Kiwi star has a reputation for scoring runs and her experience will also play a big role in the tournament.

Bates is the current no. 7 ranked batter in T20s, and will surely be going for aplenty in the auction.

India's golden girl Smriti Mandhana ought to attract the peddles and there surely will be a huge battle for her acquisition. The southpaw is an elegant batter who can dismantle any bowling unit. And given her contribution to Indian cricket and elite prodigy in international cricket, she can be one of the most expensive buys in the auction. The 26-year-old has 107 caps for India in T20s, scoring 2651 runs at a strike rate of 123.

The 24-year-old has played in the previous edition of Women's T20 blast in India for Trailblazers, and as done well. She can be expected to go for some money at the auction.

Jemimah Rodrigues is a conventional batter who has played some outstanding knocks for India in the recent past. The 22-year-old is a crafty player and has an array of shots across the field. She is not a dasher with the bat, but her calm and intelligence mean she can play the anchor role with the bat perfectly and can be a very pivotal addition to any team.
