Bangladesh jumped a few places on the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 standings after a historic 10-wicket win over their Asian rivals Pakistan at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Sunday (August 25).
In a match destined for a draw on the final day, Bangladesh bundled out Pakistan for 146 in their second innings, setting themselves a target of just 30 to achieve their first-ever Test win against the hosts.

This landmark win came after 14 encounters with Pakistan, where the Tigers had suffered 12 defeats and managed just one draw. This was also Bangladesh's first-ever 10-wicket win in Tests.
This victory also provided Bangladesh with a significant boost in the ICC World Test Championship standings, as they leapfrogged Pakistan and South Africa to the sixth spot, with winning point percentage of 35.00.
As a result of the loss, Pakistan slipped down to eighth place with a 22.22% point percentage. Earlier on Saturday (August 24), England moved from seventh to fourth on the WTC table after victory over Sri Lanka in the first Test at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, had dropped few spots on the standings with a 40.00 percent win-loss percentage, while England's win percentage improved their win percentage to 41.07. Here is a look at the latest WTC standings:

Table-toppers India also will resume their Test action at home against Bangladesh in September, when Sri Lanka also host New Zealand. Here is a look at the Test matches of the WTC 2023-25 cycle scheduled for August, September and start of October:
