WTC Final 2023: Ajinkya Rahane on Friday became the first Indian cricketer to hit a fifty in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC). On Day 3 of the ongoing World Test Championship final 2023 (WTC Final 2023), Rahane continued from where he left on Thursday and took India past 200-run mark.
An edge for a four on the fifth ball of the fifth ball of the 46th over took Rahane to 46. On the very next delivery, the 35-year-old handsomely pulled a Pat Cummins delivery over long leg for a six. Later in the 55th over, Rahane ran a double off Camreon Green to become 13th Indian cricketer to complete 5000 Test runs.

Notably, Rahane was dropped from the India team after January 2022 and he is making a comeback after 18 months.
Soon he took India past 200 as well. On Day 2, the Mumbai batter partnered with Ravindra Jadeja for 71 runs off 100 balls for the fifth wicket. India lost the wicket of KS Bharat early on Day 3 but Rahane, who is playing with an injured finger, stayed calm and composed, continuing to do his job from one end

Rahane forged another crucial stand with Shardul Thakur for the seventh wicket. The partnership between Rahane and Shardul was unbeaten 77 at the time this article was published. Here's how fans have reacted to the gritty knock from Rahane at the Oval in London.
