WTC Final 2023: Full List of Award Winners, Man of the Match, Stats and Records

Australia have completed a comprehensive victory in the World Test Championship 2023 final at the Oval. The Kangaroos won the WTC Final by a massive 209 runs over India.

Australia scored 469 runs in their first innings as Steve Smith and Travis Head scored centuries. Smith scored 121 runs and Head scored 163 runs whereas Mohammed Siraj picked up 4 wickets. India were bowled out for 296 runs in their first innings.

The Aussies scored 270/8 in their 2nd innings. India were set a target of 444 runs, but Rohit Sharma and his men could only manage 234 runs in the chase. Nathan Lyon picked up 4 wickets whereas Scott Boland picked up 3 wickets.

  • Ravindra Jadeja has 268 wickets in Test cricket, thus he crossed Bishan Singh Bedi's record of 266 wickets. Jadeja now has become the highest wicket-taking left-arm spinner for India in Test cricket.

  • This is Australia's 1st ever WTC victory, which makes them the only team in the history of cricket to win all possible ICC trophies.
