London, June 8: Steve Smith on Thursday (June 8) equalled England batter Joe Root's record of most Test hundreds against India when the Australian run-machine smashed his 31st century in the longest format.
Smith achieved the feat during the first innings of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 at The Oval in London. The 34-year-old was unbeaten on 95 at stumps on day 1 and reached the landmark in the first over of day 2.

This was Smith's ninth hundred against the Indian cricket team. Only England's Root has as many tons against India. With the ton, he has most hundreds for an Australian as well. Here is a look at players with most Test hundreds against India.
