WTC Points Table 2025-27: Updated World Test Championship Standings after South Africa beat Australia

South Africa produced a remarkable comeback to defeat Australia by 176 runs in the third and deciding Test at Newlands, Cape Town, on Saturday, clinching the three-match series 2-1.

Chasing a target of 288, Australia were bowled out for just 111 in their second innings after a disastrous start on Day 5. Off-spinner Simon Harmer delivered a sensational performance, claiming a career-best 6/16 to dismantle the Australian batting line-up. He finished with match figures of 10/120, earning the Player of the Match award.

Kagiso Rabada provided excellent support with 3/39, reaching the milestone of 350 Test wickets in the process. Earlier, centuries from Ryan Rickelton (101) and Wiaan Mulder (115) helped South Africa recover from a 100-run first-innings deficit and set Australia a challenging target.

The victory completed a stunning turnaround for the Proteas, who had lost the opening Test in Durban. South Africa also reclaimed the No. 1 position in the ICC Test team rankings.
