Yash Dayal Blames Hackers For Controversial Posts On Instagram

Under-fire Gujarat Titans left-arm pacer Yash Dayal has blamed hackers for the contorversial posts of religious nature made via his Instagram account on Monday (June 5).

In the morning on Monday (June 5), a cartoon, vilifying a particular community, was posted from his Instagram account, but later deleted with an apology. Both the posts had gone viral.

The first post was removed, but not before screenshots were shared and debated widely on social-media. Not long after, the handle posted: "Guy's [sic] apologies for the story it was just posted by mistake plz don't spread hate ... I have respect for each & every community n society".

However, Dayal has now said that his official Instagram handle was hacked. Through a statement from the PR team of Gujarat Titans, Dayal claimed that he has filed a complaint with Instagram authorities that his official handle has been compromised.

"There were two stories posted on my Insta handle today - both of which weren't done by me. I have reported the matter to authorities as I believe my account is being accessed by someone else and used for posting," the statement shared with the media said.

"I am trying to regain full control of my Instagram account. I respect all communities and the picture shared today does not reveal my true beliefs."

Dayal, who plays Ranji Trophy for Uttar Pradesh, had also played for India A last year. The pacer, who made his IPL debut last season, is best known for being hit for five consecutive sixes in an IPL 2023 match by Kolkata Knight Riders' Rinku Singh.
