Islamophobic post: Yash Dayal issues apology over controversial comment on Instagram

Gujarat Titans pacer Yash Dayal has issued an apology through his social media handle on Monday (June 5) after facing huge backlash for his controversial post on Instagram.

The left-arm pacer, who played as recently as May in IPL 2023, shared a picture on his Instagram handle which created controversy and widespread criticism. Dayal shared a communal picture which was directed to a particular religion, and people across all communities unitedly bashed the player for such a nonsense post.

Sane-minded people called on the player for such an irresponsible post, which shouldn't have been there in the first place, especially coming from someone who has been playing international-level franchise cricket and is regarded as an influencer having more than 1 lakh followers.

Following the criticism, Yash Dayal removed the controversial story from his account and apologized for his own wrongdoings.

"Guy's apologies for the story it was just posted by mistake plz don't spread hate, Thank You... I have respect for each and every community n society," Dayal wrote in an updated story issuing an apology.

Yash Dayal Apology

The 25-year-old Uttar Pradesh-born bowler came into the limelight after decent outings for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. He picked up 13 wickets for them as the Titans won the IPL. But this season has been an underwhelming one for him, as the player only came in news for conceding 5 sixes in 5 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders as his fellow UP teammate Rinku Singh destroyed him.
