Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved his career best rating of 739 points to occupy the sixth spot in the latest ICC T20I rankings for batters released on Wednesday, January 17.
The 22-year-old opener replaced Shubman Gill in the second T20I and smashed 68 runs off just 34 balls. The innings from the southpaw consisted of six sixes and five fours.

The Mumbai batter is now only behind Suryakumar Yadav (869), Phil Salt (802), Mohammad Rizwan (775), Babar Azam (763) and Aiden Markam (755). Ruturaj Gaikwad is the third Indian batter in the top ten list. He is sitting at the ninth spot behind Rilee Rossouw and Jos Buttler, with 661 rating points.
Talking about the bowlers, left-arm spinner Axar jumped 12 spots to career-best ranking of fifth in the latest ICC rankings for bowlers. He took over compatriot Ravi Bishnoi (ranked sixth with 666 rating points) to become the top-ranked T20I bowler from India.
Axar Patel performed exceptionally well in the first two T20I matches against India. He picked two wickets for 23 runs in the first match, before returning with figures of 2/17 on a batting-friendly Indore surface on Sunday. He was adjudged Man of the Match for his spell.
Further, in the ICC ODI rankings for bowlers, Maheesh Theekshana jumped three spots to occupy the eighth spot jointly with Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi. The list is being led by South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj.
India pacer Mohammed Siraj is third on the list, while Jasprit Bumrah is Sixth behind Adam Zampa and Rashid Khan. Kuldeep Yadav has dropped a place to 10th. Mohammad Shami is 12th on the list of ICC ODI rankings for bowlers.
