
Yashasvi Jaiswal has scripted history in the ongoing Irani Cup match against Madhya Pradesh.
As the Rest of India takes on the Ranji Winners of the previous season, young ROI batter Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a double hundred in the first inning, then followed it up with another hundred in the second innings.
He scored 213 runs in the first innings, and then went on to score 144 runs in the second innings of the match.
With his fantastic batting display, Yashasvi Jaiswal becomes only the second batter in Irani Cup history to score more than 300 runs. The only other player to achieve this is Shikhar Dhawan.
He also becomes the first batter in the Irani Cup history to score a double hundred and hundred in the match. He scored 357 runs in the match and batted exquisitely in both innings. He also became the 11th Indian batter to score a first-class double century and a century in the same match.
The young batter has been in tremendous form this season. Jaiswal has scored runs galore across all formats in the domestic competitions. The 21-year-old started off the season with a fantastic double-century in the Duleep Trophy in Chennai. He also scored a century against Bangladesh A last year while India A's tour. The youngster has already amassed 1000+ runs in just 17 innings this season.

ROI made 484 runs in the first inning. Apart from Jaiswal, who scored 213 runs, Bengal batter Abhimanyu Easwaran also scored 154 runs. In reply, Madhya Pradesh were bowled out for 294 runs. Yash Dubey (109) scored a hundred while Pulkit Narang picked up 4 wickets for the ROI. In the second innings, despite Jaiswal's 144, ROI are 244/8 and have a lead of 434 runs on the 2nd session of day 4.
