Jaiswal completed his 231-ball double hundred by pushing the ball from Joe Root towards cover and running a single. The entire crowd at the stadium erupted in celebration. Each and every member of the Indian dressing room was on his feet as Yashasvi Jaiswal stood tall raising his bat towards them. England coaching also could not hold themselves from applauding the batting sensation.
The opener, who was retired hurt late on Saturday due to a back spasm, celebrated the feat with two back-to-back sixes on the third and fourth ball of the 97th over. In the process, Jaiswal also equalled Wasim Akram's record for most sixes in a single Test innings created in 1996. He would have very well broken the record but India captain Rohit Sharma decided to declare the innings at 430/4, to set England a 557-run target.

Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 12 sixes and 14 fours to remain unbeaten at 214 off just 236 balls. His strike rate of 90.68 earned praises from Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri, who were on commentary duty, as the southpaw walked off the field with another standing ovation. He was greeted with pats on his back when climbed up the stairs to the dressing room.
The sixth wicket partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan accounted for 172 unbeaten runs off just 158 balls. Sarfaraz gave Jaiswal, his junior in the Mumbai squad, a warm hug after he completed his second double ton.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is 545 runs at an average of 109 runs from the first three matches of the ongoing 5-game Test series. Second-highest run-scorer Ben Duckett has scored 284 runs in five innings.
