Yashasvi Jaiswal set for IPL 2027 Trade? MI and Hardik Pandya linked but Rajasthan Royals have an Answer!

Yashasvi Jaiswal's future with Rajasthan Royals has emerged as one of the early talking points ahead of the IPL 2027 season, with speculation suggesting that the India opener could be involved in a blockbuster trade.

The speculation reportedly centres on a potential deal involving Mumbai Indians and Hardik Pandya. As RR look for a leadership figure for IPL 2027, there are links that they may swap the two India stars, which will see Jaiswal wearing the Paltans' colours next season.

However, the Royals have reportedly moved to dismiss those claims and insist that Jaiswal remains an important part of their plans.

According to RevSportz, a senior Rajasthan Royals functionary said Jaiswal has not communicated any desire to leave the franchise. The official also made it clear that the 25-year-old remains firmly on the team's roster for the 2027 campaign.

"He hasn't told us anything (about leaving the franchise)," the functionary was quoted as saying, adding that the Royals have heard the rumours but continue to regard Jaiswal as their player.

Jaiswal was retained by Rajasthan ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, underlining the franchise's intention to build around its young Indian core. The Royals also retained Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel, while bringing in experienced players such as Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.

On the field, Jaiswal continued to demonstrate his value in IPL 2026. He scored 427 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 152.50, providing Rajasthan with an explosive option at the top of the order.

The emergence of Sooryavanshi has nevertheless added another dimension to discussions about Rajasthan's long-term batting structure. For now, though, the available evidence points towards Jaiswal remaining with the Royals rather than an imminent trade.

The southpaw was also tipped to be the next captain for the Royals after Sanju Samson left the franchise for Chennai Super Kings earlier this year. Jaiswal's captaincy hopes were not fulfilled though, as Riyan Parag was appointed as the RR leader for IPL 2026 season.
