Indian batter and Royal Challengers Bengaluru women's team captain Smriti Mandhana signed off a fruitful year in T20 cricket with several records in the final game of 2024 in the shortest format.
Having led the RCB to their first trophy at the start of the year, Mandhana has put in a run of performances, which sees her finish the year as the player with most runs in a single year in a calendar year in Women's T20I.

The 28-year-old left-handed batter, who became the sixth fastest player to reach 3000 runs in T20Is, overtook Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu with her latest fifty to become the highest run-getter in a single year in Women's T20I:
Mandhana scored her third successive fifty as India defeated West Indies by 60 runs in the third and final T20I to end a five year wait for a bilateral T20I series win at home. Mandhana scored a 47-ball 77 and the latest half a century saw her go past New Zealand's Suzie Bates for most 50 plus scores in WT20I.
During her knock of 77, Mandhana smashed 13 fours to break the record for most 4s in the shortest format in the women's T20 internationals. The Indian batter surpassed Bates' record again. Here is a look at the top five for most fours in women's T20I:
In 2024, Mandhana has smashed 8 fifties most by a batter this year, and hit 104 fours, which also happens to be the most by a batter this calendar year. In the Women's Premier League, Mandhana finished fourth in the leaderboard for most runs with 300 runs in 10 innings.
