Who won yesterday's cricket matches: On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, Zimbabwe bounced back to level the three-match series with a victory over Sri Lanka in the second T20I at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
After his all-round show saved Sri Lanka from blushes in the series opener on Sunday (January 14), Angelo Mathews conceded 24 runs in the final over as Zimbabwe sealed a 4-wicket win to go level at 1-1.

In the first T20I, Mathews scored a crucial 46 as Sri Lanka sealed a 3-wicket in a last-ball thriller as they stuttered early in their run-chase of 144 at the same venue in Colombo.
Sri Lanka (SL) - 173/6 in 20 overs vs Zimbabwe (ZIM) - 178/6 in 19.5 overs. Result – ZIM won by 4 wickets with 1 ball to spare in the 2nd T20I.
Toss: ZIM won the toss and opted to bowl first at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Zimbabwe's Blessing Muzarabani and Luke Jongwe were the joint highest wicket-takers in the match along with Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana and Dushmanta Chameera. All the four bowlers claimed 2 wickets each.
Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine was the top run-getter with 70 off 54 balls, while Sri Lankan duo Charith Asalanka (69 off 39 balls) and Angelo Mathews (66 not out off 51 balls) were the next best scorers.
Zimbabwe’s Luke Jongwe was awarded the player of the match for his all-round show as he followed up a spell of 2 for 32 with an unbeaten cameo of 25 from 12 balls that included 17 of the 20 runs needed in the final over.
Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will now clash in the decider at the same venue when they take the field in day’s time to meet each other in the third and final T20I on Thursday (January 18).
