Who won yesterday's cricket matches: On Saturday, January 6, 2024, Australia completed a Test series white-wash over Pakistan, while Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe saw their ODI series opener end in No Result.
Sri Lanka hosted Zimbabwe at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for the first of their six white ball encounters, but rain played spoilsport after the hosts had fought back to post a challenging total and had the visitors on the back foot before play was called off.

Pakistan, on the other hand, lost the third and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground despite taking a first innings lead after they were bowled out for just 115 to set a target of 130, which was chased down by Australia with 8-wickets in hand on the final day of the match.

Zimbabwe's Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani and Faraz Akram claimed two wickets each, while Sri Lanka's Dilshan Madushanka also took two wickets without conceding any runs in the game.
Sri Lanka batter Charith Asalanka was highest scorer in the match with a knock of 101 from 95 balls followed by captain Kusal Mendis, who scored 46 off 48 balls.
There was no player of the match in the first ODI as the game ended in No Result after rain forced no further play with Zimbabwe at 12/2 in the run chase of 274 against Sri Lanka.
The two sides will hope their is a chance for result when they clash in the second ODI on Monday (January 8) at the same venue before the three-match series concludes on Thursday (January 11).

Pakistan's Aamer Jamal was the highest wicket-taker in the Test with a six-wicket haul in the first innings, while Australia skipper Pat Cummins, who claimed a five-wicket haul in the first innings, also finished with six wickets in the Test.
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was the top scorer in the entire Test with a knock of 88 from 103 balls in the first innings. In the same innings, Aamer Jamal walked in at number 9 and scored a 97-ball 82 to take the visitors to a challenging total.
Pakistan pacer Aamer Jamal, who scored a brilliant 82 in the first innings and followed that up with figures of 6 for 69, was awarded the play of the match, but his contributions went in vain as Australia claimed victory on the final day.
Australia skipper Cummins, who ended the series with 19 wickets from 3 Tests - 6 innings, was awarded the player of the series award for his splendid outing with the ball.
Australia will next host West Indies in a two-Test series from January 17, while Pakistan head to New Zealand for a five-match T20I series, starting from January 12.
