Sri Lanka skipper Wanindu Hasaranga, who had claimed 7 wickets in the final ODI, once again ended up as the top wicket taker in the third T20I with figures of 4 for 15, while Angelo Matthews and Maheesh Theekshana also claimed two wickets each.
Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka was the top scorer on the night with an unbeaten 39 off 23 balls followed by his opening partner Kusal Mendis, who scored 33 off 27 balls.
Sri Lanka skipper Wanindu Hasaranga was awarded the player of the match for his spell of 4 for 15 in his quota of 4 overs. He dismissed four of the bottom half of the Zimbabwe batting order including last match hero Luke Jongwe.
Sri Lanka’s senior all-rounder Angelo Mathews was awarded the player of the series for his all-round display on his return to the shortest format. He scored a total of 112 runs in 2 innings and claimed 2 wickets in 5.5 overs across three matches.
