After a middle-order collapse, Lankans were reeling at 113 for 8, but late resurgence from Maheesh Theekshana (38) and Dilshan Madushanka (19) took them to 171 runs.

New Zealand chased it down with ease. Devon Conway (45 off 42) and Rachin Ravindra (42 off 34) stitched an 86-run opening partnership and then Dayl Mitchell also showcased his destructive side as the Kiwis chased with within 23.2 overs, thus giving a massive boost in their NRR.
