Pallekele (Sri Lanka), July 6: Pakistan's Younis Khan surpassed Don Bradman on way to creating Test history here on Monday.
Younis hit an unbeaten 101 on the 4th day of the third and final Test against Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium today.
With this century, Younis overtook Bradman in the highest number of hundred makers' list in Tests. This was Younis' 30th three-figure mark in the longest version of the game. He is now level at 8th place with Matthew Hayden and Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Bradman scored 29 tons.
Also, Younis set a world record today, as he became the first batsman in Test history to score 5 hundreds in the 4th innings. The previous highest was 4 by Sunil Gavaskar, Ricky Ponting, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Graeme Smith.
The 37-year-old Younis is currently playing in his 101st Test. He is also the first Pakistani to the 30-century mark.
Pakistan who were set a target of 377 to win the decisive Test, ended the fourth day at 230/2 in 63 overs. Opener Shan Masood was batting on 114. The duo came together with the team in trouble at 13/2 in 7 overs.
