India legend Yuvraj Singh and former West Indies big-hitter Kieron Pollard's incredible T20I record of 36 runs in a single over was broken by Samoa's wicketkeeper-batsman Darius Visser on Tuesday (August 20).
Apart from Yuvraj and Pollard, Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee and West Indies' Nicholas Pooran had also scored 36 runs in a single over in T20I. However, their tally was surpassed by the Samoan during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional East Asia-Pacific Qualifier A match.

Visser hit 39 runs off Vanuatu seamer Nalin Nipiko at Garden Oval No.2 in Apia, smashing six sixes besides the three no-balls delivered by Nipiko. Visser's blitz also saw him become only the fourth player to hit 6 sixes in a single over in T20I.
Earlier, Yuvraj had smashed 6 sixes in a single over off England pacer Stuart Broad during the 2007 T20 World Cup, while Pollard matched the feat fourteen years later when he smashed Sri Lanka's Akila Dhananjaya for back-to-back maximums.
Nepal's Airee also joined the elusive list with 6 sixes in a row off Qatar's Kamran Khan earlier this year in April. India's Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh also combined to score 36 runs earlier this year in a single over against Afghanistan's Karim Janat. Here is a look at the list:
Coming back to the new record holder Visser, the wicketkeeper-batter showcased his batting prowess by hitting 3 successive sixes off the first 3 balls and continued his onslaught, clearing the boundary once again off the fourth legal delivery.
While Nipiko tried to restrict the damage further with a dot ball in the fifth delivery of his costly over, the 28-year-old Visser smashed another maximum off the third no-ball of the over and capped off the over with yet another six to set a new record.

Visser knock of 132 from 62 balls included 14 sixes and 5 fours helped Samoa clinc a 10-run win. Samoa scored 174 all out in their allotted 20 overs before restricting Vanuatu to 164/9 in their run chase.
The 14 sixes smashed by Visser was just four shy of the record for the most sixes hit by a single batter in a men's T20I match. That record is held by Sahil Chauhan, who hit 18 sixes during his knock for Estonia against Cyprus.
