Yuzvendra Chahal has dropped another cryptic post on X after not being picked in the India squad for five-match T20I series against Australia starting November 23. BCCI on Monday announced a 15-member squad under captain Suryakumar Yadav.
Chahal had made a cryptic post after not being picked for the Asia Cup 2023 which preceded the World Cup 2023. The cryptic post featured the sun coming out of the clouds and shining again. He just used the smiling emoji this time.

Yuzvendra Chahal was also not considered for the three-match ODI series just ahead of the World Cup 2023. He was ignored even when the likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel were rested for the first two matches. Washington Sundar and Ravichandran Ashwin were preferred ahead of him. The latter replaced injured Axar Patel in the World Cup 2023 squad.
The 33-year-old wrist spinner has once again been snubbed as the likes of Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar and Axar Patel have found place ahead of him. India's next big assignment is the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA, and considering the latest development, Chahal's chances of featuring in the ICC event has taken a major hit.
India's failure to win the World Cup 2023 has made the Indian team think tank and selectors to revise their plans. India last won an ICC tournament back in 2013. Fresh and young faces are likely to be prepared for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 and Chahal might not find himself in the scheme of things.
The leg-spinner, who played a few Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 matches recently, was spotted at the Wankhede Stadium during both the India matches at the venue. He arrived to watch the India vs New Zealand semi-final with his wife Dhanashree Verma.
