Zimbabwe to decide on tour after blast near Lahore stadium: Report

Lahore, May 30: Zimbabwean cricket officials were set to meet Pakistani officials on Saturday to decide over the remaining one-day international match between the two sides here on Sunday, an ESPNcricinfo report said. [Blast a suicide bomber attack, says Pak minister]

Although the local police initially termed the blast to be a transformer explosion, but Pakistan's interior minister later admitted that it was a suicide bomber who blew himself up after failing to enter the stadium. One of the deceased person was a sub-inspector.

Although the Pakistan Cricket Board said the remaining game of the three-match series will be held as per the schedules, the management of the visiting team said they and the players will have a meeting with the board officials and security officials to decide the series's fate, the report added.

A Zimbabwe team spokesperson said they heard a blast during the match on Friday and they held a team meeting to inform everyone that host officials would meet them to talk over the incident, the report said.

Pakistan won the series after defeating Zimbabwe by 6 wickets in the second match.
