Zimbabwe to Host South Africa and New Zealand for Exciting Test and T20I Tri-Series

Zimbabwe is set to welcome South Africa and New Zealand for an exciting international home season, featuring two Test series and a T20I tri-series.

This highly anticipated cricketing event marks Zimbabwe's return to hosting elite international teams, promising an action-packed schedule for cricket fans.

Zimbabwe to Host South Africa and New Zealand for Exciting Test and T20I Tri-Series

The home season begins with Zimbabwe taking on South Africa in a two-match Test series, the first red-ball contest between the two sides in Zimbabwe since 2014. The matches will be played in Bulawayo at Queens Sports Club from 28 June to 10 July. The Proteas last played a Test series against Zimbabwe in December 2017, making this a long-awaited contest between the two neighbouring nations.

Following the Test series, attention will turn to the shortest format as Zimbabwe, South Africa, and New Zealand battle it out in a T20I tri-series. The series, held entirely in Harare, will see each team face the others twice before the top two sides contest the final on 26 July. This will be the first T20I tri-series hosted in Zimbabwe since 2018, when Australia and Pakistan toured. With the ICC T20 World Cup on the horizon next year, the tri-series presents an opportunity for teams to fine-tune their squads and strategies.

Zimbabwe's home season will conclude with a two-match Test series against New Zealand, scheduled from 30 July to 11 August in Bulawayo. The last time Zimbabwe hosted New Zealand for Test matches was in August 2016, making this a significant return for the Black Caps.

Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni expressed his enthusiasm for the season ahead, calling it "the biggest international home season we have had in years." He added, "Hosting South Africa and New Zealand for both Test cricket and an exciting T20I tri-series is a fantastic development for the growth of the game in Zimbabwe. We are looking forward to welcoming the teams and putting on a great spectacle for our passionate cricket fans."
