Dennis Connors Biography

Connors was encouraged to take up the sport by US Para cyclist Shawn Morelli. His journey in sports did not start with cycling alone. Before acquiring his impairment, he was a member of the US national rock climbing team. In 2020, while working as an instructor at an adaptive climbing clinic, a student suggested he compete again. This led to him winning a US national title in Para climbing in 2022.

Military Service and Education

Connors served in the United States Marine Corps as a linguist from 2003 to 2012. He worked in counter-narcotics and was deployed to South America and Iraq. His educational background includes a degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and ongoing studies for a master's degree in parks, recreation, and tourism at the University of Utah.

Personal Life and Hobbies

Connors balances his professional life with personal interests. He enjoys rock climbing, skiing, and cooking. He is married to Krista and has two children, Kenadie and Soren. His philosophy is simple yet profound: "Never quit doing the things you love."

Current Club and Coaching

Connors is currently associated with Project Echelon Vanguard in the United States. His coaches are Simon Bennett and Jennifer Bennett. Besides cycling, he has competed internationally in Para climbing.
