Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale offered escape route, in-line for a shocking switch to Premier League rivals

Arsenal are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window as they aim to boost their transfer fund by offloading several players, including goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The England international was replaced by David Raya last season, and with the Spaniard now signed permanently, Ramsdale's chances of reclaiming his starting spot appear slim.

Ramsdale began last season as Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper, starting the first four Premier League matches. However, after the first international break, Raya took over the role and demoted Ramsdale to the bench.

The 26-year-old made just two more Premier League appearances, both against Brentford, due to Raya being ineligible to play against his parent club.

Ramsdale's limited playing time saw him feature primarily in cup competitions, including the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, and in a dead rubber Champions League tie against PSV Eindhoven. Overall he managed only 11 first-team appearances to his name.

With Arsenal looking to balance their books while continuing to invest in new talent, Ramsdale is seen as a valuable asset who could bring in a significant transfer fee.

The Gunners have set their asking price at around £30 million, which has so far deterred potential suitors. However, recent reports indicate that Nottingham Forest have shown interest in the goalkeeper.

Forest, however, are not willing to meet Arsenal's valuation and are instead exploring the possibility of a loan deal with various clauses. Despite this, Arsenal have already taken steps to prepare for Ramsdale's potential departure by signing two other goalkeepers, Lucas Nygaard and Tommy Setford, to bolster their squad.

As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will lower their demands for Ramsdale or if another club will step forward willing to meet their asking price.

The situation is still developing, and the north London club are keen to settle Ramsdale's future as they continue to reshape their squad for the upcoming season.
