Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan have offered €22m, while Fiorentina want €25m plus €5m in bonuses. The striker could be in Milan on Monday for a medical if the two clubs can settle their differnces.

Milan chiefs Marco Fassone and Massimo Mirabelli will be back from their China trip on Sunday, with negotiations due to step up.

The Croatia international was in red-hot form for club and country last season, bagging an impressive number of 22 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions.

With Fiorentina unwilling to lose their star striker, Milan may be forced to up their offer or risk missing out to Everton before the window slams shut as Everton are also not short of funds and intent and need to replace Romelu Lukaku who made his move to Manchester United.

Kalinic is an experienced player and could add a lot to the Milan side who are looking desperate to get back their domestic superiority after a few bad years.

AC Milan have brought in 10 new players at a cost of €215.3 million, making them the biggest spenders of the European transfer window so far.

The Rossoneri have signed Mateo Mushachio, Franck Kessie, Andre Silva, Fabio Borini, Hakan Calhanoglu, Andrea Conti, Ricardo Rodriguez, Lucas Biglia, Antonio Donnarumma and Leaonardo Bonucci and a few more could be on the way.

The intent AC Milan have shown this summer is really worth praising and there is a big chance that Juventus' domestic monopoly could be under threat.
