AC Milan Completes €32 Million Signing Of Santiago Gimenez From Feyenoord

Santiago Gimenez joins AC Milan from Feyenoord for €32 million, signing a four-and-a-half-year contract. The striker scored 16 goals this season and will wear the number seven shirt.

AC Milan have secured Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord for 32 million, with the Mexican international committing to a four-and-a-half-year deal at San Siro. Born in Argentina, Gimenez moved to Mexico as a child and has earned 32 caps for El Tri, scoring four goals. He joined Feyenoord from Cruz Azul in July 2022.

During his time at Feyenoord, Gimenez scored 65 goals in 105 matches. His contributions were pivotal in their Eredivisie title win in the 2022-23 season and their KNVB Cup victory last year. In the previous term, he netted 23 goals in 30 Eredivisie games, ranking among the top scorers across Europe's leading leagues.

AC Milan Signs Santiago Gimenez for €32 Million

The Italian media reports that Milan agreed to pay 32 million for Gimenez. He is their second acquisition of the mid-season transfer window following Kyle Walker's loan move from Manchester City. The striker will don the number seven jersey, previously worn by Alvaro Morata before his loan move to Galatasaray on Sunday.

Gimenez might soon face his former team in the Champions League as Milan and Feyenoord are set to clash in the knockout phase play-off round. The first leg is scheduled for February 12 in the Netherlands, with the return match six days later. Players who transferred in January can participate in these fixtures.

Milan are reportedly nearing a loan deal for Joao Felix from Chelsea. The Rossoneri recently drew 1-1 against Inter in Sunday's derby and currently sit eighth in Serie A. They are preparing to face Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Wednesday.

This season, Gimenez has already scored 16 times in 19 appearances. His addition is expected to bolster Milan's attacking options as they aim to improve their league standing and progress further in European competitions.
