Mariano Troilo’s late header earned Parma a 1-0 victory over AC Milan at San Siro, dealing another blow to Milan’s Serie A title push. The defeat ended Milan’s long unbeaten league run and kept the team 10 points behind the leaders after matchday 26.
The result arrived after Massimiliano Allegri warned before kick-off that Milan could not afford any more mistakes in the Scudetto race. This setback was only Milan’s second loss in the league this season, yet it arrived at a crucial stage of the title battle.

Milan’s 24-match unbeaten streak in Serie A ended despite long spells of pressure and territory. The run had started after the opening weekend loss and had become the club’s second-longest unbeaten sequence in a single league campaign, underlining how costly this latest reverse may prove.
Statistically, Milan created far more than Parma but lacked a cutting edge. Milan attempted 25 shots and produced 1.33 expected goals, with Christian Pulisic, Rafael Leao, Adrien Rabiot and Ardon Jashari all taking four efforts each. Parma replied with nine attempts, worth 0.46 expected goals, and converted the last one.
{TABLE_1}The match opened with early warning signs from Parma when Mateo Pellegrino volleyed inches wide in the second minute. Milan then began to control possession, yet clear chances were rare. Pulisic tested Edoardo Corvi from a tight angle, then lifted another strike narrowly over the crossbar before half-time.
After the interval, Pulisic threatened again, drilling a low effort that Troilo cleared off the line. Milan increased the tempo, and Leao struck the frame of the goal with a clean volley, meeting Rabiot’s cross, but Parma’s compact defending kept frustrating Allegri’s side.
The decisive moment arrived on 80 minutes. Emanuele Valeri delivered a corner, and Troilo climbed above the defence to guide a header towards the far post. The goal was initially ruled out for a foul on Mike Maignan, involving Lautaro Valenti, but VAR reviewed the incident and allowed it.
Troilo’s winner left Milan facing a steeper climb in the Serie A title race, with Inter now strongly placed at the summit. Despite their dominance in attempts and territory, Milan could not convert pressure into points, while Parma’s resilience and clinical late strike delivered a significant away success.
