AC Milan target Swansea City midfield ace Ki Sung-Yueng

Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport reports the Rossoneri are eyeing a surprising move for the midfielder and see him acting as cover for Lucas Biglia.

Swansea City and South Korea midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng

Bengaluru, February 26: Swansea City midfield ace Ki Sung-Yueng is reportedly a shock target for Italian giants AC Milan.

The South Korea international has been an integral part of Swansea’s midfield since joining the Swans from Celtic in 2012.

The 29-year-old is a proven Premier League midfielder with all-round abilities and an eye for a goal and AC Milan want him to add to their talented squad which has underperformed this season.

Things have changed of late though since the appointment of Gattuso as the manager but there is still a long way to go for the Rossoneri to become one of the strongest Italian sides again.

Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport reports the Rossoneri are eyeing a surprising move for the midfielder and see him acting as cover for Lucas Biglia.

Sung-Yueng is a free agent in the summer and admitted he is yet to speak to the Swans about a new contract in December.

Ki said: "We have not talked with the club, we just want to focus on these games.

"If we are out of the relegation trouble then maybe it will be a better time to talk.

The South Korean has made 15 appearances this season, scoring once and making one assist.

Despite his poor return, boss Gennaro Gattuso and chief Massimiliano Mirabelli have showed an interest in the 29-year-old as they believe that he would add a lot of quality to the Milan side.

Meanwhile, Mirabelli has been in the news recently after saying he felt "sorry for Arsenal" after they were given a trip to the San Siro in the Europa League round of 16.

Milan's sporting director has no doubts that his team will end Arsenal’s European involvement for another year when they meet in two weeks’ time.
