London, Aug. 10 (ANI): AC Milan has denied reports that they were in talks with Chelsea over a 40 million transfer bid for striker Alexandre Pato
"With regards to the rumours circulated by the English press, AC Milan clarify and reaffirm that there are no negotiations ongoing with Chelsea regarding Alexandre Pato, and that the player is absolutely non transferable," a statement on the AC Milan website said.
Chelsea had been eyeing the 19 year-old throughout the summer, and had even offered a monstrous offer to grab the player, which AC Milan had turned down.
Pato is under contract to A C Milan until June 2012, and in the 2008-2009 season had finished as Milan's second highest scorer behind Kaka with 15 goals in 36 appearances.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has also squashed reports of a possible Pato signing.
"It is not true because Pato is a Milan player. He is a young player and Milan believe a lot in Pato. They sold Kaka and now Pato is an important player for them," The Telegraph quoted Ancelotti, as saying. (ANI)
