Capri Sports has officially launched Warriorz FC, marking a significant milestone for women's football in Mumbai and the state of Maharashtra.
Previously known as Rudra FC, the team now competes in Mumbai's top-tier league - the MFA Women's Premier League - and will be mentored by none other than former India captain and football legend Aditi Chauhan.

This acquisition signals Capri Sports' debut in the world of football, as they aim to uplift the profile of women's football not just in Mumbai, but across India. Warriorz FC is now part of the broader Warriorz family, with ambitions to win the MFA Women's Premier League and eventually establish a consistent presence in the Indian Women's League 1 - the premier domestic competition for women's football in the country.
The initiative focuses on elite-level player development, access to top-tier coaching, and modern sports science - all under the guidance of a mentor like Aditi Chauhan. This aligns with Capri Sports' broader mission of promoting women's empowerment through sports.
Speaking on the occasion, Aditi Chauhan said:
"It is great to see big corporates like Capri Sports investing in women's football and taking ownership to create a better system for the players. I'm looking forward to sharing my experience and knowledge not just with the players but also the management, wherein we work towards holistic growth of everyone involved. Not just producing champions but also leaders of tomorrow."
Apurv Gupta, Director - Contact Sports, Capri Sports, remarked: "Warriorz FC represents far more than just a football team for Capri Sports - it is a strategic opportunity to create meaningful, long-term impact on the women's football ecosystem in India. Driving that change begins at the grassroots, where foundational interventions are most critical. With Aditi Chauhan bringing her invaluable experience and expertise to the project, we believe we have all the right elements in place to build something truly transformative."
Jinisha Sharma, Director at Capri Sports, added: "At Capri Sports, we're committed to shaping the future of women's sports in India, and we believe football is one of the next big frontiers. With Warriorz FC, our vision is to build a club that not only competes at the highest level but also contributes meaningfully to the rise of Indian women's football. We're thrilled to welcome Aditi Chauhan on board; her leadership and global experience will be invaluable as we grow this team and this movement."
Warriorz FC is set to be more than a team - it's a transformational project aimed at redefining the grassroots structure and future of women's football in India.
