AFC Asian Cup 2023, India vs Syria: 3 Syrian players Blue Tigers need to watch out for

India vs Syria: India are currently lingering at the bottom of their Group B table with 0 points after losing both of their first 2 games. They now find themselves in a do-or-die situation in their last AFC Asian Cup 2023 match against Syria.

However, the job will be just as hard as it has been in their last two matches. Syria have shown solid efforts against Uzbekistan and Australia. They also have several world-class players that will trouble India.

3 Syrian players India need to watch out for

Omar Khribin

Omar Khribin is the current jewel of Syria’s attack. Along with being physically strong, the centre-forward has a strong will and fearful skills that can cause serious problems for Indian defenders. He has already scored 12 goals and provided 2 assists in 15 matches for his club this season.

For his country, the 30-year-old has scored 15 goals and assisted 6 times so far. The UAE Pro League player has not appeared in any AFC Asian Cup 2023 games for Syria. However, the coach could still call up Omar Khribin for their match against India.

Abdul Rahman Oues

Abdul Rahman Oues has been one of the best players for the Syrian side in both of their AFC Asian Cup 2023 games. The Syrian right-back plays for the Greek second-tier club Kallithea. He wasn't on the field for his club for some time.

However, even so, his performances for his nation in his last two games have been inspiring. Weiss could prove to be problematic for even India's best Sunil Chhetri in the final third.

Thaer Krouma

Syria's defense has been one of their strongest suits in both of their last 2 matches. Thaer Krouma, along with Abdul Rahman Oues can be given credit for that accomplishment. They not only halted Australia, but Thaer Krouma even tried scoring against them. The centre-back has already featured in 29 games for Syria and even scored once last year.
