India vs Uzbekistan Player Ratings: India put out one of their worst performances today against Uzbekistan. Hence, it comes as no surprise that they lost 0-3 in this AFC Asian Cup 2023 match. Almost all players looked lost and they can't even be rated more than 6 out of 10.
Attacking and getting goals to win the match was India’s main target in this match. However, Uzbekistan are still a threat and the Blue Tigers should have kept the defense compact like they did against Australia.

India vs Uzbekistan Player Ratings in AFC Asian Cup: India (Ratings out of 10)
Defense: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (GK) - 5.3/10; Nikhil Poojary (RB) - 4.3/10, Sandesh Jhingan (CB) - 4.7, Rahul Bheke (CB) - 4.3, Akash Mishra (LB)- 5.1
Midfield: Suresh Singh Wangjam (DM) - 5.0, Apuia Ralte (CM) - 5.6, Anirudh Thapa (CM) - 5.9
Attack: Manvir Singh (RW) - 4.5, Sunil Chhetri (ST) - 5.9 Naorem Mahesh Singh - 5.8
However, it wasn't the case and India suffered for that as they conceded 3 goals only in the first half. It's no wonder that the backline and the man under the bar looked like the worst players on the ground for India.
More than Uzbekistan’s brilliance, the mistakes from the backline cost India all their goals. Sandesh Jhingan, who can be considered the wall for the Indian side, looked extremely off-form. The amount of space that Uzbek players found was unforgivable.
Going up to the field, Suresh Singh Wangjam and Apuia Ralte tried to do their basic job of linking the backline through the midfield to create good chances. Even if Ralte managed well at times, Wangjam was moderate.
However, even if they managed to get it ahead to the final third, only Naorem Mahesh Singh managed to hold on, Anirudh Thapa and Manvir Singh did not impress. The coach brought on Rahul KP in Manvir’s place at the start of the second half.
Even with the world-class skipper in their squad, since Rahul KP came on, he impressed the most. Only he could probably be rated 6 or higher at this game. Even though Sunil Chhetri was off-form, he could still be rated higher than the rest of the team.
That says a lot about today's performance of the Indian football team. Brandon Fernandes, Ishan Pandita, and Deepak Tangri came on too late into the match to find their footing and leave their mark in the game.
