After Kylian Mbappe, this PSG star announces his departure at the end of this Season

Kylian Mbappe announced his departure from PSG after the end of this season recently.

The French forward made an official announcement about his decision as he is set to end his seven-year stint with the French giants, in which he has scored 234 goals in 262 matches.

Keylor Navas

It is a significant blow for PSG, which has compounded with another setback as another PSG star has announced his departure as well.

Keylor Navas has officially announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after contract ends this season.

The goalkeeper's move marks the end of a significant chapter at the French club, where he arrived in 2019. During his tenure, Navas has been a key player for PSG, making 113 appearances and securing 51 clean sheets.

His contribution has been pivotal in the club's success, helping them clinch nine major honours, including three Ligue 1 titles and two Coupe de France victories. Notably, Navas also played a crucial role in PSG's journey to the Champions League final in the 2019-20 season, where they finished as runners-up.
Transition and Challenges

Navas enjoyed the status of first-choice goalkeeper for his initial two seasons with PSG. However, the landscape changed with the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma in 2021, leading to reduced playing time for Navas.

This shift saw him facing challenges in securing his position in the starting lineup. After a loan spell at Nottingham Forest, Navas returned to PSG, only to find limited opportunities on the field. This season, he has made just three appearances in Ligue 1, signalling a clear change in his role within the team.

The player announced about his decision on social media on Sunday (May 12). The Costa Rican custodian penned a heartfelt message."Every second spent at the Parc des Princes was wonderful.

"Thank God, I have always felt love and encouragement. It was an honour to defend this badge in this incredible stadium. I still have some goals to accomplish, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to say goodbye to what used to be my home," Navas said.
