AIFF reviews facilities for national league matches

Kochi, July 7 (UNI) All India Football Federation (AIFF) general secretary Alberto Colaco today said the federation had reviewed the facilities for the forthcoming National League Matches in Kerala.

Expressing satisfaction over the preparations, Mr Colaco told reporters that the state team 'Viva Kerala' would be playing nine home matches between September 30 and February 28, the national schedule for the league matches.

He said the venue and dates of matches would be announced later by Kerala Football Association with whom AIFF had held meetings.

AIFF was striving to elevate the national league to a professional level in the near future, he noted.

Mr Colaco said Asian Football Confederation (AFC) delegates visited Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Manipur as part of its 'Vision Asia' project to promote soccer in the Asian countries.

He said AFC had given a report on their findings to the football associations concerned.
