Key Decisions from AIFF Meeting

1. Adoption of NSGA

The General Body unanimously approved the AIFF’s adoption of the National Sports Governance Act, 2025. This central legislation, passed by Parliament in 2025, establishes a statutory framework for sports governance in India. It aims to promote transparency, ethical practices, good governance aligned with international standards, athlete welfare, and effective dispute resolution.

2. Member Association Constitution

The General Body decided that the draft Constitution for Member Associations will be shared with the MAs. The associations will have 15 days to review the document and submit their final suggestions.

3. Master Rights Agreement (MRA)

The federation has received bids from two entities for the Master Rights Agreement, which covers commercial, broadcasting, and related rights for Indian football properties. The General Body unanimously authorized the Executive Committee to lead discussions and negotiations on the MRA.

The MRA negotiations come at a critical time for Indian club football, as the existing agreement with commercial partners is nearing expiry, affecting league operations, broadcasting, and revenue distribution.
