Aitana Bonmati has suffered a broken leg during training, sidelining her for the Nations League final against Germany. She will begin rehabilitation in Barcelona.

Aitana Bonmati, a key player for Spain, has sustained a broken leg during training. This injury will keep her out of action for an extended period. The midfielder landed awkwardly on Sunday, just before the Nations League final second leg against Germany scheduled for Tuesday.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFF) confirmed that Bonmati has a fracture in her left fibula. Consequently, she will miss the upcoming match after playing 77 minutes in the first leg held in Kaiserslautern last Friday.

Aitana Bonmati Injured Ahead of Final Match

The three-time women's Ballon d'Or recipient will now focus on her recovery in Barcelona. Last season, she was instrumental in helping her club secure a domestic treble. Additionally, Bonmati was honoured as the Champions League's player of the season after leading Barcelona to the final.

Despite her absence, Spain aims to defend their Women’s Nations League title successfully. They are set to face Germany at Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Tuesday without their star midfielder.

Bonmati also played a crucial role in Spain reaching the Euro 2025 final. Her contributions have been significant both at the club and international levels, showcasing her talent and leadership on the field.
