Cristiano Ronaldo Saudi Pro League Contract: Al-Ahli president reveals massive gap between Al-Nassr star and foreign players

Al-Ahli president Khalid Al Ghamdi has lifted the lid on how much more Cristiano Ronaldo earns at Al-Nassr in comparison to other foreign players in the Saudi Pro League.

When the Portuguese superstar joined Al-Nassr in January, it was public knowledge that he would be by far the highest earner in the league, and for good reasons. We have seen so many top players and managers joining various Saudi Arabian clubs in the summer which possibly wouldn't have happened if not for Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo has always been one of the highest-earning players even when he was in Europe and he continues to dwarf others even after moving to Saudi Arabia.

Khalid Al Ghamdi, president of Al-Ahli, has lifted the lid on how much more Ronaldo earns in comparison to Al-Ahli's foreign players. He claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo earns as much as all foreign players of his club combined.

Al Ghamdi said: "The value of Cristiano’s contract alone is equal to the value of the entire contract of our foreigners."

Al Ghamdi's claims are quite extraordinary considering the wealth of top names Al-Ahli themselves have on their books. They have secured players like Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Edouard Mendy, Allan Saint-Maximin, Gabri Veiga, and Roger Ibanez in the summer from Europe. They also have a quality manager in Matthias Jaissle but have not been at their best this season.

They are third in the Saudi Pro League right now with 30 points in 15 games, four points behind Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr who are second. Al-Hilal are leading the table with 41 points in 15 games and are yet to lose this campaign. Al-Ahli were only promoted from the second division last season and have immediately settled back into life in the top flight.
