Al-Hilal Move Closer To Saudi Pro League Title With 2-0 Win Over NEOM
Al-Hilal kept the Saudi Pro League title race alive by beating NEOM 2-0 at Kingdom Park, cutting the gap to Al-Nassr to two points and ensuring the championship will be settled on Thursday, when Simone Inzaghi’s side face Al-Fayha while Al-Nassr meet Damac.
The result came while leaders Al-Nassr prepared for Champions League final duties on Saturday, and Al-Hilal stayed unbeaten in the league season, extending a strong home run against promoted clubs and maintaining belief that Jorge Jesus’ team can still be overtaken on the final matchday.

Al-Hilal reached a major landmark by becoming the first club in Saudi Pro League history to score 600 home goals in the competition, and the Blue Waves have now won 14 straight home league games against promoted opposition, scoring at least twice in every one of those fixtures.
Ruben Neves opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the eighth minute, after Mohammed Al-Burayk brought down Theo Hernandez inside the area, and that goal continued Neves’ strong record against promoted sides, as Neves has now scored in five consecutive league appearances against such teams, with five of seven goals coming from penalties.
Luciano Rodriguez and Alexandre Lacazette threatened for NEOM soon after the opener as the visitors tried to respond, but Al-Hilal stayed in control and doubled the advantage on 58 minutes when Malcom drove a low ball across the box and Sultan Mandash finished at the far post.
NEOM’s defeat extended a poor trend, as NEOM have failed to win any of the last 11 Saudi League matches when conceding the first goal, a run stretching back to a victory over Al-Kholood on 30th October 2025, and that sequence again cost NEOM after falling behind early.
| Team | Competition | Key stats |
|---|---|---|
| Al-Hilal | Saudi Pro League | 600 home goals; unbeaten this season; 14 straight home wins vs promoted sides |
| NEOM | Saudi League | No wins in last 11 matches when conceding first |
The victory left Al-Hilal needing another positive result against Al-Fayha and support from Damac against Al-Nassr on Thursday, and with form strong, home scoring records intact and NEOM’s comeback issues continuing, the Saudi Pro League title remains undecided heading into the last day.
