In a surprising turn of events, Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al-Hilal is eyeing LAFC star forward Denis Bouanga as a potential replacement for their sidelined star Neymar.

Neymar is currently nursing an ACL injury sustained during international duty last October and is expected to miss the remainder of the Saudi Pro League season.

Al-Hilal, determined to maintain its competitive edge, is on the lookout for a reliable goal-scoring option to fill the Brazilian international's void in the winter transfer market.

Neymar, who commands a staggering €90 million contract with Al-Hilal, managed just five games, contributing a goal and three assists before his unfortunate injury.

With ambitions to challenge for the league title once again, the Saudi Pro side has reportedly turned their attention to Denis Bouanga, the standout performer in the 2023 MLS season.

Bouanga's exceptional display in the MLS has not gone unnoticed, particularly in contrast to Lionel Messi's modest goal tally in the league. The Gabonese international netted an impressive 20 goals in 31 matches, earning him the coveted 2023 MLS Golden Boot.

Although under contract with LAFC until 2025, it is rumored that the MLS side may be open to a transfer, providing Bouanga with the opportunity to face off against football giants like Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Al Hilal are said to be also targeting another star signing in January. The Saudi club is also expected to sell their Brazilian winger Michael this winter, which would open a further spot for a potential big-name singing.
