90+11' Abdulhamid shoots with power following a counter-attack but is denied by Mailson! The referee blows the final whistle soon after! Al Hilal beat Al Taawoun 2-0 to go seven points clear to the top!
90+9' Kanno guides the ball past the wall into the goal for a stunning freekick goal as Malcom leaves it for his teammate! HIL 2-0 TWN
90+8' Malcom runs close to the box and looks to set up Shahri as Taawoun are caught on the counter. However, the Brazilian is fouled and leads to a goalscoring opportunity. Malcom is the man to take it!
5" The game is halted at the moment as a Taawoun player is down on the ground following a collision with Mitrovic. A buggy is out on the field while they are stretching off the play out of the ground. Hopefully not too serious injury. Meanwhile Mitrovic is coming off for Saleh Al-Shahri in Hilal attack. HIL 1-0 TWN
90+1' Eight minutes of stoppage time added while Alvaro Medran stands over an indirect freekick from some 40 yards to the right of the goal. Lacks the quality that Malcom provided to the other side of the goal as Taawoun fail to make an impact from the situation. HIL 1-0 TWN
86' Al Taawoun manager throws in the kitchen sink by using up his remaining substitutions. Abdullah Fattah replaces Faqeehi, who just came in as the sub while Al Hilal makes two changes too! Al Malki and Alburayk come on for Michael and AlShahrani
82' Mitrovic scores the opener with a diving header! What a set-piece delivery by Malcom, whose ball landed right in front of the six-yard box for the Serbian to finish! That's goal number 17th of the season for Mitrovic!
80' Hilal captain Al Dawsari charges on the right wing by newly-in Abdulrazzaq fouls him from behind and is booked! Another indirect freekick opportunity for Al Hilal. This time from right side!
76' Saud Abdulhamid tries to run free on the right flank but Muath Faquihi makes a poor sliding tackle to catch Abdulhamid's boot! The referee books him straightaway while Hilal will have a freekick opportunity
72' Bono saves his teammate Tambakti from disappointment as a deep cross from the left by Medran is poorly cleared by Tambakti. However, Bono makes a reflex save to keep the score a stalemate! HIL 0-0 TWN
72' Hilal's Nasser Al Dasawri is taken off and is replaced by forward Abdullah Al Hamdan!
69' Hilal left-back Yasser Al Shahrani makes an overlapping run and uses his trickery to get inside the box after beating two defenders. He tries to place the ball to the far post with a low effort but lacked the power to beat the goalkeeper as Mailson jumps to his left to collect the ball! HIL 0-0 TWN
66' Abdulmalik AL Oyayari is unable to continue and is being replaced by Fahad Abdulrazzaq. Meanwhile Al Hilal win a corner
63' Michael makes a mazy run to beat his marker and feeds Mitrovic inside the box. However, the Serbian couldn't create a space to shoot as he was shadowed by a Taawoun defender.
60' Everyone was expecting a penalty but it's a goal kick as it is seen as a foul by Mitrovic on Abdulmalik! HIL 0-0 TWN
57' Interesting development Video Assistant Referee has asked the onfield referee to look into Mitrovic's header as Taawoun defender Abdulmalik has handed the ball. Could be a penalty and second yellow card for the Taawoun defender!
55' Mitrovic was fed with a delicious cross, which falls right at him! The Serb meets the ball with a header but straight to Mailson for an easy save!
53' Medran's freekick didn't go direct to Bono but was headed with a feather touch by Kanno on to the goal
52' Alvaro Medran takes an indirect freekick from some 40 yards. The effort beats everyone and awkwardly bounce in front of Bono, who used his reflex for another save! Top class work by the former Sevilla shotstopper!
50' Koulibaly loses the ball on the left wing for Taawoun to counter! However, enough bodies were already back in the defense for Hilal, forcing Medran to curl it to the goal from 30 yards. The ball sails over the bar for a goal kick! HIL 0-0 TWN
47' Mateus Castro with a surprise shot on target as he shoots from a tight angle! Catches Bono off guard too as the goalkeeper was expecting a cross. However, Bono recovers well to palm the ball out for a corner kick!
46' The second half gets underway with no changes made by any of the manager during the break. HIL 0-0 TWN
2nd half to start soon as players are reappearing on the field after the break
Al Taawoun successfully ends the half without conceding as their five-man defense didn't allow the comfort Hilal would have liked in the offensive third after keeping 64% of possession, just two shots on target and one off the post, not something that will please the coach Juan Jesus. Plenty of more action to come in the second half!
45+6' Al Taawoun with another sporadic counter attack but another futile cross into the box for Koulibaly to clear with comfort. The Senegalese has been a towering and intimidating presence to his rival forwards!
45+4' Al Hilal are trying to send in early crosses into the box for Mitrovic but their accuracy with the last few crosses hasn't been up to the mark
45+1' The intensity of Hilal attack has died down since the goal was disallowed while Taawoun are getting better with their attacks. Six minutes of stoppage time has been added upon completion of 45 minutes. HIL 0-0 TWN
43' Al Taawoun time and again are attacking from either wings but their quality of delivery in the final third has let them down. HIL 0-0 TWN
41' The goal stands cancelled as the referee signals that Mitrovic elbowed a defender before heading in the goal!
Back from their long trip to India, Al Hilal have turn their focus on domestic matters as the unbeaten Saudi Arabian club is facing Al Taawoun at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
Winning all of their last five games while boasting 10 wins in 12 games (2 draws), Al Hilal had little difficulties without Neymar, who is out for the season with injuries to his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee.
Al Hilal have prospered well with the likes of Aleksandr Mitrovic, Malcom, Michael, Ruben Neves among others running the show. On their away trip to Mumbai for the AFC Champions League group match against Mumbai City FC, the side had to battle hard against a stubborn MCFC defense for a 2-0 win through late goals.
We should see an unchanged front four in their 4-2-3-1 formation, with Aleksandar Mitrovic being supported by the dangerous trio of Michael, Malcom, and Salem Al-Dawsari. Mitrovic has already scored 16 goals in 16 appearances for the Blue Waves, nine of which have come in 10 Saudi Pro League games, along with two assists.
They remain unbeaten in the top-tier continental club tournament as well with three wins and a draw in four games so far while in the Saudi Pro League, the Blue Waves are currently on top of the league table with 32 points after 12 matches.
They are not just the only unbowed team in the league, but also have the best goal difference among all teams. Al Taawoun are also in superb form as they sit 3rd in the table with 25 points with Al Nassr sandwiched in the middle.
For Taawoun, Joao Pedro, who has scored four goals in his seven Saudi Pro League outings since joining the team, could continue to lead the line. Al Taawoun may stick with their current 4-3-3 formation after their recent draw with Damac.
Though he will face competition from players like Sattam Al-Roqi and Abdulfattah Adam, Saad Al-Nasser might once again complete the front three. Musa Barrow, who has also managed four goals in his first nine games for the Wolves, could maintain his spot on the left flank.
