Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo could influence one of Manchester United January transfer targets

In a surprising turn of events, Al-Nassr sensation Cristiano Ronaldo has allegedly issued a warning to Karim Benzema about the prospect of working with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, as the French striker faces uncertainty at Al-Ittihad just months after his departure from Real Madrid.

Benzema, a revered icon from Real Madrid, ventured into the Saudi Pro League last summer, securing a move to reigning champions Al-Ittihad on a free transfer. However, despite a promising start in terms of goal-scoring and a hero's welcome, recent reports have suggested that the 36-year-old is discontent in the Middle East.

Some recent rumors are circulating that he even skipped several training sessions last week. This behavior has not been overlooked by Al-Ittihad manager Marcelo Gallardo, who has taken decisive action by omitting Benzema from the squad for a mid-season trip to Dubai this month.

The forward's unstable situation at the Saudi club has fueled speculation of a potential January departure, with Old Trafford emerging as a rumored destination. Manchester United, seeking to fortify their attacking lineup, is reportedly exploring the option of securing Benzema on a loan deal.

However, United may encounter obstacles in their pursuit of Benzema, with reports surfacing of a cautionary note from Cristiano Ronaldo to his former Real Madrid teammate regarding working with Erik ten Hag may come as a big factor. Ronaldo's stormy relationship with the Dutch manager during their time at Old Trafford resulted in the Portuguese forward's departure in January 2023.

The conflict between Ronaldo and Erik Ten Hag, stemming from differences on various issues, led to a lack of mutual respect, prompting Ronaldo to express his dissatisfaction with the Dutch manager.

Given Ronaldo's long-lasting relationship with Benzema, the French striker may be swayed by Ronaldo's experience. Benzema reportedly has also been approached by Chelsea over a move in January. With this factor in place, this could give the Stamford Bridge side an extra edge.

Benzema finds himself among a group of high-profile players reportedly considering an exit from Saudi Arabia after just six months, with Liverpool legends Jordan Henderson and Roberto Firmino also allegedly not happy at their respective clubs.
