Two of modern football's most coveted players are poised to lock horns against each other as the rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi rekindles at the Riyadh Season Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr are set to play Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in the friendly tournament on Thursday (February 1), and the football world is waiting in anticipation for the glorious 'Last Dance.'

Ronaldo and Messi have clashed against each other manier teams in their peak days. The rivalry of Real Madrid and Barcelona reached lofty heights when the duo used to ply their trades in Spain.

But as Ronaldo and Messi both find themselves in different parts of the world, the see off between the gladiators is not that often. Amid this, the Riyadh Season Cup is a rare opportunity when Ronaldo is likely to play against his nemesis Messi.

Inter Miami have already played one match of the tournament, when they were beaten at the hands of another Saudi club Al Hilal. Both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez scored in the match, but couldn't prevent defeat of the MLS outfit.

But as this high-voltage encounter on Thursday nears, the questions arises whether Cristiano Ronaldo will take part in the match.

Al Nassr vs Inter Miami: Will Cristiano Ronaldo play in Friendly?

Cristiano Ronaldo suffered an injury recently which prompted Al Nassr to prematurely end their China Tour. Ronaldo, who has been in terrific form for the Saudi club, is currently nursing the issue and is likely to play some part in the match.

Ronaldo was not seen training on Tuesday and decisions may be taken after Wednesday's Al Nassr training. The veteran Portuguese has already netted 30 goals in 31 matches this season, and won't mind adding a few more.

But Ronaldo's availability for the Inter Miami match still remains a doubt. At the moment, it looks that the 38-year-old may be benched for the match and he may come on later in the game.
