Alan Shearer Slams Manchester United: “Too Many Bad Eggs”

By MyKhel Team

In a scathing critique of Manchester United's performance against Newcastle United, legendary England striker Alan Shearer singled out Marcus Rashford and other players for their lack of attitude during the Red Devils' 1-0 defeat on Saturday night in the Premier League.

Shearer particularly criticized Rashford for not tracking back Tino Livramento, highlighting it as an instance of the pervasive attitude problem within the team.

According to Shearer, Rashford appeared disinterested and failed to contribute defensively, allowing Newcastle numerous chances.

Shearer expressed concern over what he perceived as too many "bad eggs" with negative attitudes in the Manchester United team. He argued that when things are going well, players can excel, but when faced with adversity and fatigue, there's a lack of character and resilience in the squad.

Shearer criticised the players and said as quoted from Goal.com, "In [Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot's] defence, they got no help whatsoever from [Alejandro] Garnacho and [Marcus] Rashford. Rashford didn't look at it at all - didn't look interested. It happened so many times. Newcastle created so many chances and they should have had many goals."

During the match, Manchester United struggled to create opportunities as Newcastle dominated the midfield, with Joellinton and Bruno Guimaraes overpowering Scott McTominay and Kobbie Mainoo.

Despite Newcastle's control, they couldn't convert chances into goals, with Kieran Trippier hitting the crossbar from a freekick. The decisive moment came in the second half when Anthony Gordon tapped in from close range to secure the victory for Newcastle.

Looking ahead, Manchester United faces a challenging 14-day period with four upcoming matches, including fixtures against Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League and Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

The team's manager, Erik ten Hag, is under pressure to address the issues highlighted by Shearer and turn the team's fortunes around.

The defeat against Newcastle has intensified scrutiny on the squad's attitude and character, raising questions about their ability to compete at the highest level.
