Trent Alexander-Arnold's celebration after scoring in Liverpool's victory over West Ham highlighted his dedication to the team. His goal was Liverpool's fourth in their 5-0 win, which extended their lead at the top of the Premier League by eight points. This marked the first time since October 2021 that Liverpool scored five or more goals in consecutive away games.
The focus after the match was on the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, and especially Alexander-Arnold, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid. Since debuting in 2016, he has played 333 matches for Liverpool. After scoring his first goal of the season, Alexander-Arnold made a talking gesture during his celebration.

When asked if Alexander-Arnold's situation was the most concerning among the trio, Arne Slot dismissed any negativity. "No, I don't think it's negative at all. He's playing really well and scored a great goal," Slot stated. He added that Alexander-Arnold's celebration spoke volumes about his commitment.
"The way he celebrated his goal probably tells you enough, so I don't think I have to say much more about it," Slot continued. "I'm really happy with Trent, as happy as I am with Mo and with Virgil. For me, there's no difference."
Each of Liverpool's players whose contracts are expiring will be able to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs starting next year. Salah has been exceptional this season, scoring 17 Premier League goals and providing 13 assists. He has both scored and assisted in eight different league games this term.
Salah has consistently scored over 20 goals in all competitions each season since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017. Among Premier League players since 1992-93, only Alan Shearer (10) and Harry Kane (nine) have achieved more 20+ goal seasons than Salah.
Van Dijk has also been impressive, contributing to Liverpool's joint division-high eight clean sheets alongside Nottingham Forest. When asked about potential changes during the January transfer window, Slot acknowledged that discussions are inevitable at this time of year.
"Not on the inside but on the outside it definitely does," Slot said regarding transfer talks. "People talk even more about it. Not just about these three but also about other players because it's a month when players can make a transfer as well."
Slot noted that January is always a busy period for transfers, similar to August. The focus is not only on potential departures but also on possible new signings for Liverpool.
