Alexey Miranchuk Transfers To Atlanta United For €15 Million

Alexey Miranchuk has officially moved from Atalanta to Atlanta United, as confirmed by the MLS club on Tuesday. The Russian international, who helped Atalanta win the Europa League last season, has signed a three-year contract with an option for an additional year. The transfer fee is reported to be €15 million.

During his tenure with Atalanta, Miranchuk made 42 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing 12 assists. Over his four years in Italy, including a loan spell at Torino during the 2022-23 season, he netted 13 goals in 100 Serie A matches.

Atlanta United's Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra expressed his excitement about the signing. "We're excited to sign a player of Alexey's quality at this point in his career from a top league in Europe," Bocanegra said. "He's an attacking player who is an excellent chance creator capable of scoring goals."

Bocanegra highlighted Miranchuk's consistent performance over the past four years in Serie A and his experience in European competitions. "Over the last four years, he has been a consistent player in Serie A and has made more than 40 combined appearances in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, while helping Atalanta win the Europa League title in 2023-24," he added.

The move comes as Atlanta United looks to fill the void left by Thiago Almada, who transferred to Botafogo earlier in the window. Miranchuk's arrival is expected to bolster Atlanta's attacking options significantly.
