Alonso praised his team's disciplined play during the goalless second half, emphasizing their efficiency early on. "We were not lucky, but efficient in the first minutes," Alonso stated. This triumph equaled Leverkusen's largest win in the Champions League, matching their 4-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in October 2013. It was also their most significant away win in any European competition since defeating Celtic 4-0 in the Europa League during the 2021-22 season.
