Ruben Amorim Focuses On Creating A Manchester United Team That Fights For Each Other

Diogo Dalot highlights Ruben Amorim's commitment to building a cohesive Manchester United team that fights together. Despite past challenges, recent signings and a shift in mentality offer hope for the upcoming Premier League season.

Diogo Dalot has expressed optimism about Manchester United's future under Ruben Amorim. Despite a challenging start, with the team finishing 15th in the Premier League last season, Dalot sees positive changes. Amorim, who took charge in November, led the team to the Europa League final but faced struggles domestically. The recent signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have sparked hope for improvement.

Amorim's leadership style is evident in his decision to leave certain players behind during their pre-season tour in the United States. Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia were not included as they seek moves away from Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford also missed out on the tour, having secured a loan move to Barcelona with an option to buy.

Amorim's Vision for a United Team

Dalot highlighted a shift in mentality within the squad as a key factor for their promising performances during the Premier League Summer Series. "I think we are creating a group that fights for each other," he said. "I think that's what we are trying to create. Obviously, there's still a long way to go."

Amorim has been clear about his expectations since joining Manchester United. He insists on players meeting high standards or leaving the club. Dalot supports this approach, believing it will elevate the team's performance levels. "He [Amorim] is very clear on his messages that you want to be a part of the team, or you cannot be here," Dalot stated.

The departure rumours surrounding Bruno Fernandes added another layer of uncertainty during this transfer window. Linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, Fernandes chose to remain at United, much to Dalot's delight. "I think it's a clear message that he still believes that this club can go to the places that it should be," Dalot commented.

Building Team Spirit

The pre-season victories over West Ham United and Bournemouth have contributed to growing optimism among fans and players alike. Dalot attributes these successes to improved team spirit and intensity on the field. "I think you can see straight away some signs of the team fighting a bit more," he noted.

As Manchester United prepares for the upcoming season, Amorim's focus remains on fostering unity and determination within his squad. The commitment shown by players like Fernandes reinforces this vision and sets a positive tone for what lies ahead.
