Ruben Amorim urged Rasmus Hojlund to continue his efforts after the striker's late goal secured a 1-1 draw for Manchester United against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Antoine Semenyo had given Bournemouth the lead in the 23rd minute, but Hojlund's equaliser came deep into stoppage time, breaking his six-game goal drought for United.
Since Amorim took charge on November 24, United have struggled in the Premier League, winning only six out of 23 matches. This record is better than only Southampton, Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Tottenham during this period. Amorim acknowledged that his team needs to improve their attacking play.

Amorim expressed the importance of scoring for strikers but emphasised that it's not just about goals. "It is always important for strikers to score," he said. "But when we look at the game as a striker it is not just the goals." He noted that while Hojlund's goal was a boost, each game presents a new challenge.
The Portuguese manager highlighted areas for improvement in attack. "We created chances, but we need to do better near the box," he stated. He stressed understanding aspects like crossing and one-on-one situations to enhance their performance.
Bournemouth's Evanilson was sent off after a VAR review deemed his challenge on Noussair Mazraoui dangerous. Manager Andoni Iraola was frustrated by this decision, arguing that Evanilson slipped and did not make contact with his high leg. "It's common sense," Iraola stated, expressing plans to appeal the red card.
Iraola also criticised VAR for showing only unfavourable angles of incidents. He mentioned an earlier incident where Evanilson was kicked by Casemiro without similar consequences. The Spaniard questioned whether referee Peter Bankes was informed about Evanilson slipping during the incident.
United are focusing on their Europa League campaign and will face Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final first leg at San Mames on Thursday. Amorim noted similarities between Bournemouth's defensive style and what they might encounter against Bilbao, stressing the need for improvement in upcoming matches.
Despite sitting 14th in the league table, Amorim remains optimistic about refining their strategies and achieving better results as they progress through their remaining fixtures this season.
