Amorim Expresses Uncertainty Over Availability Of Man United's AFCON Trio For Upcoming Match

Ruben Amorim revealed uncertainty regarding the availability of Manchester United players Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui for their match against Bournemouth due to the Africa Cup of Nations. This situation poses challenges but also potential benefits for the team.

Ruben Amorim is uncertain if Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui will play for Manchester United against Bournemouth on Monday. These players are expected to leave soon for the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins later this month. This uncertainty leaves Amorim unsure about their availability for the match against the Cherries.

United have struggled in recent matches against Bournemouth, failing to win any of their last four Premier League encounters (two draws and two losses). This is more winless games than they had in their first 12 meetings with Bournemouth, where they secured nine wins, one draw, and two losses. Despite these challenges, United have shown improvement in recent games.

Amorim Uncertain on Man United's AFCON Players

Mbeumo has been a key player for United this season, leading as the top scorer with six goals and one assist in the league. Amorim acknowledged the situation is not ideal but sees potential benefits. "We are still in conversation with the national teams," he stated.

Bournemouth have recently found success at Old Trafford, winning their last two away games against United by a 3-0 scoreline each time. No team has ever managed to win three consecutive away matches against Manchester United in the top-flight while scoring three or more goals each time.

Amorim expressed his frustration over not knowing which players will be available for selection. "The game is Monday; they are here and training," he said. "It is frustrating [not knowing who is available]. But nobody knows who is going to play, so it is a good thing."

United's Improved Form

Manchester United have lost only once in their last nine Premier League matches (five wins and three draws), suffering a 1-0 defeat at home to Everton. They have accumulated more points in these nine games (18) than they did in their previous 17 matches combined (16 points from four wins, four draws, and nine losses).

Amorim remains optimistic despite the uncertainty surrounding player availability. He believes that having a long week allows them ample time to prepare for different scenarios. "We have players to cope with everything," he added.

As Manchester United prepare for their upcoming fixture against Bournemouth, they aim to overcome recent challenges and continue their improved form in the league.
